Roadway Safety Training

Roadway Safety Plus, March 5, 8am to 12pm – Register Here

  • This course will focus on roadway construction safety and includes an introduction of the Roadway Safety Plus Program. An emphasis will be placed on the five following topics: Excavation and Trench Safety, Confined Spaces, Electrical Safety, Night Work, Working Outdoors

Fall Protection for Bridge Work, March 5, 1pm to 4pm – Register Here

  • This 4-hour course provides training to protect workers against falls especially from bridge work, by making the employees aware of some of the requirements for fall protection.

Road Safety Audits, March 6, 8am – 3:30pm – Register Here

  • The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) defines an RSA as a “formal safety performance evaluation of an existing, or future road or intersection by an independent, multidisciplinary team.” The primary focus of an RSA is safety, while working within the context of other aspects, such as mobility, access, surrounding land use, and aesthetics. By using an unbiased and multidisciplinary team to perform a comprehensive review and an evaluation of physical, operational, and human-factors-related safety issues for a given study area, RSAs make sure that safety is adequately considered.

Maintenance of Unpaved Roads, March 7, 8am to 3:30pm – Register Here

  • This course will present practical methods used by other transportation professionals on how best to improve level of service while reducing some of their costs of maintaining unpaved roads. This course with cover the subgrade, the surface material, the volume and type of traffic, the shape of the road, how to reduce the cost of maintenance. This program will provide a set of tools which will assist the agency in determining the level of performance of their surface material.
