FHWA TechNotes on Bridge Construction Using Prefabricated Elements

FHWA’s Bridge Engineering Research Team in the Office of Infrastructure Research has released two new TechNotes focused on bridge construction using prefabricated elements.  Prefabricated bridge elements are assembled then connected onsite during bridge construction, and these connections often include the use of field-cast grouts.    These two TechNotes (FHWA-HRT-16-080 and FHWA-HRT-16-081) provide insight into test methods, key performance measures, and best practices that will help owners achieve desired results.
