Caltrans Division of Local Assistance in coordination with the California Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) Center offers a variety of training classes to assist local agencies in participation of federal-aid on their transportation projects. Below is the 2016/2017 schedule for the Federal Aid Series and the Resident Engineers Academy. These classes are designed specifically for California’s local agencies and are offered to them at a subsized cost with funds from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).

Registration Information
- Federal Aid Series: Registration is online. Due to limited seating, we request no more than 2-3 employees per agency. If the class fills up and your agency has multiple staff who signed-up online, we may contact you to discuss moving to the wait list. REGISTER NOW
- Resident Engineers Academy: Because of high-demand for this class, you must request admittance by sending an email to your Caltrans District Training Coordinator or District Local Assistance Engineer (DLAE). Once the priority registration list has been compiled and you have been admitted, you will receive an email from our registrar with instructions on how to register online. It is possible you may be added to the wait list.
