The Federal Highway Administration’s National Highway Institute (NHI) now offers two new appraisal courses, Foundations of Federal-Aid Highway Program Appraisals (FHWA-NHI-141053) and Practical Applications in Federal-Aid Program Appraisals (FHWA-NHI-141054). These virtual courses help learners improve conformity with appraisal requirements into classical appraisal principles.
Foundations of Federal-Aid Highway Program Appraisals (FHWA-NHI-141053)
This seven (7) hour Web-based Training (WBT) addresses the nuances and state-specific differences related to the application of appraisal concepts and Uniform Act requirements of 49 CFR Part 24. Learners will explore the appraiser’s role in the overall project development process and how an appraiser’s expertise can assist in completing a transportation project effectively and efficiently.
Practical Applications in Federal-Aid Program Appraisals (FHWA-NHI-141054)
This seven and half (7.5) hour Web-conference Training (WCT), builds on the fundamentals developed in the Foundations of Federal-Aid Highway Program (FHWA-NHI-141053).
Participants will explore examples of problems that are handled differently from typical mortgage appraisal assignments. These examples demonstrate how clients that have regulatory requirements can determine market value of a property, and determine a compensation estimate due to a property owner, given the unique interpretation of laws in the jurisdiction the appraiser is practicing.
The target audience for these virtual trainings includes representatives from Federal Uniform Act Agencies, State Departments of Transportation (DOT), Local Public Agencies (LPAs), consultant/fee appraisers, and FHWA staff involved with the appraisal process that have attended a basic practices and principles of real estate appraisal course.
Virtual Session Information:
• October 24th, 25th, 26th (2.5 hours each day)
