
The USDOT Research Review Winter Edition highlights the Federal Land Management resources, new environmental justice and appraisal training courses, and other Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Office of Planning, Environment, and Realty (HEP) research topics. The goal is to synchronize and unify efforts to streamline the grant delivery process discretionary grants for the five Planning, Environment, & Realty offices.

Discretionary Grant Program
A competitive grant program created by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to plan for and strengthen surface transportation to be more resilient to natural hazards, including climate change, sea level rise, flooding, extreme weather events, and other natural disasters.

Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement (CMAQ) Program Interim Guidance Update
The FHWA is announcing the availability of the 2024 CMAQ Program Interim Guidance to incorporate requirements and changes enacted under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) as well as previous transportation legislation and congressional actions. The Interim Guidance provides information and guidance on eligibility, funds transfer, and other CMAQ program requirements.
