Nevada Local Technical Assistance Program (Nevada LTAP) Summer Special: “Be Cool and Stay in School”
These sessions explore key pavement and environmental factors that influence project selection, and provide guidance on choosing the most effective and cost-efficient treatments once projects are identified. Participants may register for one or both trainings; however, attending both is recommended for a comprehensive understanding of the pavement preservation process.
Selecting Pavement Preservation Projects:
A successful pavement preservation program is built upon an agency’s ability to select the right pavements for pavement preservation. This training identifies core decision-making factors for project selection, focusing on the types of distress and pavement / environmental conditions encountered in Nevada, and additional factors the agency can include in the selection process based on its pavement data collection program and pavement management software capabilities.
Selecting Pavement Preservation Treatments:
Once projects have been identified as appropriate for pavement preservation, the next step is to identify appropriate treatments and select the best option. This training introduces a process for selecting appropriate preservation treatments. During the training, participants learn how to complete each step of the process. Participants will also complete exercises to apply the process using real project information.
