Meeting ID: 160 647 8287
Passcode: 161124

This webinar is hosted under the Every Day Counts (EDC7): Enhancing Performance with Internally Cured Concrete (EPIC2) initiative, provides an in-depth look at the New Jersey Department of Transportation’s (NJDOT) internally cured high performance concrete bridge deck pilot program.  The webinar is specifically targeted for agencies considering the adoption of internal curing, but have yet to begin or are in the early stages of implementation efforts.  NJDOT will share insights on the initial steps, ongoing progress, and status of their efforts. Participants will gain an understanding of NJDOT’s strategic approach and their recommendations for integrating internal curing into their infrastructure projects.

As the program is currently in its early stages, the webinar will be focused on:
– Motivations behind the decision to implement internal curing, including a review of NJDOT’s extensive experience with conventional High-Performance Concrete (HPC) bridge decks.
– Development of specifications, including internal curing methodology.
– Internal and external coordination efforts.
– Demonstration project selection process.
– NJDOT’s implementation plan to institutionalize internal curing.
– Challenges that have been addressed along the way.
– Support and grants received from FHWA.
