The California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) will begin accepting grant applications for Federal Fiscal
Year 2027 (October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027) in December 2025. The application should relate to one of the priority program areas listed below and be supported by local crash data that demonstrates a need for funding. For more information on eligibility, see the Grant Program Manual and OTS Grant Programs brochure (see below). All applicants must submit an application by January 31st through the Grants Electronic Management System.

• Drug-Impaired Driving
• Emergency Medical Services
• Motorcycle Safety
• Occupant Protection
• Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety
• Police Traffic Services
• Communications and Public Affairs
• Roadway Safety and Traffic Records
