U.S. Access Board Webinar: ADA and ABA Accessibility Standards

April 6, 2023
11:30 am – 1:00 pm PT

The next webinar in the Board’s free monthly series will take place on April 6th and review common questions on the ADA and ABA Accessibility Standards in new construction and alterations. More specifically, Board staff will address misinterpretations and confusion on accessibility requirements for showers, curb ramps, signs, and assembly seating, and elevators. Session participants are encouraged to share their own questions in advance of and during the session, which will include an open dialogue.

Questions frequently asked by inquirers who consult the U.S. Access Board’s Accessibility Specialists and answered during this webinar:
Can clear floor/ground space or turning space overlap other space requirements?
Can tactile characters and visual characters be provided separately on different signs?
Do the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) Accessibility Standards permit ramps to be portable after construction as an adaptation?

Visit Great Lakes ADA Center’s Questions and Answers on the ADA and ABA Accessibility Standards webinar webpage for more information or to register. All webinars include video remote interpreting (VRI) and real-time captioning. Questions can be submitted in advance of the session or can be posed during the live webinar. Webinar attendees can earn continuing education credits. The webinar series is hosted by the ADA National Network in cooperation with the Board.
