FHWA Web-based Training Series

New Transportation Systems Management and Operations Training Series (TSMO)

The Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) National Highway Institute (NHI) now offers the new Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) Training Series.

The target audience for these virtual courses include state, regional, and local transportation planners, those involved in TSMO program development, project development and programming practitioners, and transportation operations specialists with focuses in traffic management, transit management, or freight operations.

The Planning for TSMO Introduction (FHWA-NHI-133131) and Planning for TSMO Concepts and Applications (FHWA-NHI-133132) courses are Web-based Training (WBT) that introduce TSMO and provide in-depth explanations about how to incorporate strategies into the transportation planning process.

These WBTs provide a foundation for the final course in the training series, Planning for TSMO Putting Concepts into Action (FHWA-NHI-133133). This Web-conference Training (WCT) is a live, online course led by subject matter experts in planning and TSMO. The course includes interactive activities to help learners apply concepts to real world planning, programming, and project development scenarios. Before taking this WCT training (FHW-NIH-133133), participants are required to complete the Planning for TSMO Concepts and Applications (FHWA-NHI-133132).
