FHWA Project Delivery Lessons Learned Program Website

On August 21, 2023, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) published a new Project Delivery Lessons Learned Program website created to promote efficient project delivery, best practices, and value-added through collaboration with our internal and external stakeholders. The Lessons Learned website provides a platform for sharing lessons learned for Federal-aid projects around the country, including successes and challenges, and cover all phases of project delivery (e.g., planning, environmental, right-of-way, design, procurement, construction, etc.).

The program’s main goals are to increase the effectiveness of FHWA stewardship and oversight and produce better project outcomes by:
• Improving FHWA employees’ and stakeholders’ oversight ability to promote compliance with federal, state, local, and other requirements.
• Enhancing FHWA employees’ stewardship ability to provide technical assistance to project sponsors.
• Sharing national knowledge and experience with project sponsors.

The FHWA encourages State DOTs, local agencies, and other project sponsors to visit the FHWA Project Delivery Lessons Learned Program website to the view and share lessons learned.

For any questions about the FHWA Project Delivery Lessons Learned Program, please contact FHWA Major Project Engineer Sajid Aftab via email or (202) 493-0334.
