Caltrans Division of Local Assistance Americans with Disabilities Act – Section 504 Compliance Review Assessment (Transition Plan)

Due date is May 17, 2024

The Federal Highway Administration is requesting all Local Public Agency (LPA) Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Section 504 Compliance Review Assessment and Transition Plans to be submitted electronically. An LPA with 50 or more total employees is required to develop a Transition Plan to prioritize removal of structural barriers for accessibility purposes pursuant to Section 35.150(d) in Title 28 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

Please be prepared to complete all information in one submission, a sample assessment is provided for review:

Please use the Caltrans DLA Assessment online form to submit current ADA Section 504 Compliance Review Assessment information by May 17, 2024; and if the LPA is required to complete a Transition Plan, please attach Transition Plan. For any updates from the original submittal, LPAs can request a new link by contacting Division of Local Assistance Office of Local Civil Compliance at dla.ada@dot.ca.gov.

Note: If LPA already submitted online ADA Section Compliance Review Assessment and no updates are needed, not required to submit another form. Although LPA with fewer than 50 employees are not required to develop a transition plan, please submit your information for monitoring and reporting purposes.
