The Highway Infrastructure Program (HIP) funds resulting from the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2017-18 Apportionment will expire soon! Any amounts not obligated on or before September 30, 2021 will lapse. Please view the Monthly Balance Reports on the HIP Webpage to determine the remaining amount of unused HIP funding for your Metropolitan Planning Organization, Regional Transportation Planning Agency, or County.
In order to assure processing of Requests for Authorizations (RFAs) and allow for the review and issuance of E-76 approvals through Caltrans and the Federal Highway Administration, agencies are recommended to submit RFAs to their appropriate District Local Assistance Engineer by July 1, 2021.
Please notify your District Local Assistance Engineer regarding your region’s obligation status of HIP funds for FFY 2017-18, FFY 2018-19, and FFY 2019-20.
